Welcome to the Second Annual Vineman Showdown at Sundown, a new race that brings exciting and welcome changes to your typical race day. Eighteen years of experience has taught the team at Vineman many lessons. The most important lesson learned is to listen, understand, and deliver when our loyal Vineman participants ask. We have done just that with the Vineman Showdown at Sundown.
Are you tired of getting up before the farm animals just to get to the transition area on time? Well, on race day . . . go ahead . . . sleep in until noon! Race time is 5:00 pm!
The Vineman Showdown at Sundown will be held June 7th, 2008 in San Rafael, CA (about 20 minutes north of San Francisco). The event will consist of a ¼ mile swim in San Pablo Bay at high tide, an out and back 9 mile bike course that meanders beautiful China Camp State Park, and a fast 3 mile out and back run along the bay.
Enjoy the beautiful race venue at McNears Beach Park with a single transition - no point to point! Easy parking, easy to get to, fantastic post race atmosphere!
The Vineman Showdown at Sundown will feature a Tri-Team Competition battling for the right to take possession of a traveling trophy.

If you aren't one of the more than 18,000 athletes from around the world who has experienced one of our many events, we welcome you to join us for this second annual event. TCM welcomes you to the Showdown as the hosting tri club.
Team Competition:
The Showdown competition will be split into 2 divisions:
- Each Team will receive 1 point for every member that completes the race.
- Points will also be given to the top 20 men and top 20 women overall in each of the division categories, large club & small club. For example: 20 points for 1st, 19 points for 2nd, 18 points for 3rd etc. all the way to 1 point for 20th place)
- The team with the most points will be the winner of their respective category
NOTE: When registering, an individual must choose whether they are racing in the Team Competition for their respective club or racing in the Individual Age Group division. Athletes will only be scored in one division.
