The Following IMPORTANT Items Pertain to the Vineman Ironman 70.3.
1. There will be no race number pick up on race day. You must pick up your race number and materials the day before the race at Windsor High School, in Windsor, California.
2. There is no required bike check for the Vineman Events. If you need assistance with your bike while you are in Santa Rosa we recommend NorCal Bike Sport - (707) 573-0112.
3. Bring your valid USA Triathlon license and picture ID to race number pick-up. If you do not have your valid USA Triathlon card with you, you will be required to sign up for a one-day license at the event.
4. Attend one of the pre-race meetings the day before your race. Valuable information regarding the event will be presented at these meetings and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the event.
5. The Vineman events have two transition areas that are fifteen miles apart. We encourage you to drop-off your run gear at Windsor High School immediately following registration there.
6. Start with your assigned wave and rack your bike in your assigned rack. If you fail to do either of these you will be penalized or disqualified.
7. Wetsuits will be allowed if the water temperature is below 78 degrees Fahrenheit, in accordance with USAT rules. The water temperature is expected to be between 74 and 76 degrees.
8. Make sure that you properly wear your race numbers (for all races) and timing chip (for all races). You will receive three numbers at packet pick-up. The sticker number goes on the front of your bike helmet. The bicycle frame number goes on your bicycle's top tube, just behind the handlebars. The bib number must be worn on the front of your body during the entire run portion of the event. You will be body marked on race morning before the swim. NOTE: For the Vineman Ironman 70.3 race you must wear your bib number during the bike segment as well (front or back)
9. Use the portable toilets that are available at the race sites and on the race course to relieve yourself. You will be disqualified if you are seen relieving yourself on the ground.
10. The roads are open to traffic. Ride on the right hand side of the road unless instructed otherwise by a police officer of a race official. Please discourage your friends and family members from driving on the race course while the race is in progress.
11. Your swim gear will be transported to the finish line. To avoid losing any of your belongings, place your equipment (including your wetsuit) in a bag labeled with your race number after finishing the swim portion of the event and securely close your bag. We will be providing bags at registration. Spectators will not be allowed into the transition areas. If you would like to hand your gear to a friend over the transition area fence before you begin the bike portion of the event you are welcome to do so and we encourage it.
12. Do not park on the race course or in private parking lots or your car may be towed. Parking lots specifically designated for the Vineman will be provided at both the start and finish areas of the event.
13. Please help our volunteers keep the countryside clean and the residents of the area happy by discarding rubbish (gel packets, water bottles, banana peels, wrappers, cups, etc.) at the aid stations while racing.
14. You must be present at the awards ceremony to accept Ironman 70.3 Championship slots, prize money or awards. Awards and prize money will NOT be mailed out.
15. Free shuttle buses will be provided to take athletes from the finish line at Windsor High School, back to Johnson's Beach. For the Vineman Ironman 70.3, shuttle times will be from 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
